Understanding autism in older adults

We were recruiting autistic adults aged 40 years and above to build a greater understanding of how autism influences people throughout their lifespan.

 

Participants attended several study visits at the
Brain and Mind Centre in Camperdown, Sydney, complete a range of social and cognitive assessments, participate in an MRI scan, and undertake a brief physical and physiological examination.

Recruitment

To be eligible for this study, participants must:

  • Be over 40 years old

  • Either​

    • Have an autism diagnosis, or be experiencing characteristics associated with autism, or

    • Be a healthy friend or family member who meets certain cognitive ability scores

​
